Families In Crisis, Inc.’s veteran’s support programs are made possible by grants from the Department of Veteran Affairs’ Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program and the Texas Veteran’s Commission Fund for Veterans Assistance. The Fund for Veterans’ Assistance provides grants to organizations serving veterans and their families. This program aims to increase the housing stability of veteran families who are at-risk of or experiencing homelessness. Services provided through this program are based on need and may include:
- Temporary rental assistance
- Case management to assist the veteran in developing goals and housing stability plans
- Housing search and placement assistance
- Life skills classes
- Assistance accessing VA and mainstream benefits
To receive support, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a veteran or a member of a family in which the head of household or spouse of the head of household is a veteran
- Meet income requirements
- Did not receive a dishonorable condition
